Part 3 - The Fall and the Restoration

Overview: Restoration in Christ: Faith in Christ

Synopsis

The work of Christ leads to a rest in Him. Rest does not stand alone, but depends upon faith in the one who did the work. Faith enables one to enter the rest. Jesus claimed to be "the truth." As the Truth, Jesus is the object of faith. The names of God reflect the redemptive work of Christ and form a basis for faith. The fall of man happened in part because mankind rebelled against having faith and trust in God. In reconciliation, God answers this rebellion with the cross and the requirement of faith. This is to deny reliance upon one's own understanding and to glory in God's understanding by faith.
